All drives have a natural life span or a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), meaning that they will fail eventually. Normally, a life of hard disk is over 30000 hours. In fairness this is partly due to the fact that many failures occur for reasons outside the control of the manufacturer.
For example, power surges/cuts, human error such as re-formatting, virus infection, fire or flooding. Failures that are attributable to the drive itself can include a head crash, servo mechanism failure, firmware corruption or a component failure on the circuit board. Where the recovery process requires that the drive be opened for inspection and repair this should be performed by a reputable data recovery specialist with clean room facilities.
The good news is we can recover your data from most data loss situations, even when other data recovery companies have said it is not recoverable. We have the specialist equipment and facilities to recover your data from almost any cause of failure. We charge nothing for analyzing your disk failure so please forward it to us for an expert opinion.
Hard drive failures can broadly be categorized into logical, electronic or mechanical. When a logical problem occurs the drive is detected but the data cannot be accessed. Format Partition Deletion Corrupted FAT Virus contamination Electronic Circuit board Firmware Mechanical Head crash Servo-mechanism failure. If the hard disk is making strange noises it is vital to shutdown and refrain from further use. When deciding wither to use the services of a professional data recovery company or attempt a yourself with a do-it-yourself downloaded program, please bear in mind that there is often only one chance to recover your valuable data. Once we receive your hard drive it will be logged into our system & queued for evaluation by one of our data recovery technicians.
It performs a number of tests and examinations on your hard drive in order to find out exactly what the problems ar. We will provide you with our initial diagnosis, total recovery cost and estimated completion date within 24 of receiving your hard drive.
During the recovery process we may perform component level board repairs, if necessary. Any repair or adjustments of components are often just temporary measures to gain access to the data.
The first thing to occur in the data recovery process is the cloning process. We never work directly on your original media. Once the cloning process is complete, our data recovery engineers will work at the hexadecimal level (machine level) of your drive in order to get the best recovery results.
Throughout the entire data recovery process, your media is in a secure, static-free, class 100 clean room environment. This prevents the possibility of any further damage happening as a result of dust or related particles getting into an open hard drive.
"If your hard drive is repairable, and in our opinion will stay repaired, we will return your data on your repaired drive. If it is determined that your drive cannot be repaired, we can return your recovered data in a variety of ways, including copying it to a new hard drive, writeable CD, Zip/Jazz cartridge, or tape system."
"We will keep a copy of your data for one week to ensure the successful re-installation of your data.
Once your data is re-installed, your data will be purged from our storage vaults."
