QBWin.log Overview
QuickBooks uses the log file called qbwin.log file to store messages about Quickbooks error messages, and other information created by the Verify Data, Rebuild Data, and Clean Up Company Data utilities. If your file has data corruption, this is the first file you need to look at to get an idea of what the issue is and how to fix the error.How to locate the QBWin.log file
- In QuickBooks, press Ctrl+1. To open the Tech Help window, press Ctrl+2.
- Click the Open File tab.
- In the list of files, double-click qbwin.log.
How to locate the Quickbooks.log file on a Mac
- Open the hard drive
- - Select the user currently logged into the Mac
- - Open the Library folder
- - Open the Logs folder
- - The QuickBooks.log file will be located here - open it by double-clicking the file
